Tests.ca was built to address a gap in Canadian driver education: learners studying lengthy provincial handbooks, failing their knowledge tests, and entering traffic underprepared. We created province-specific practice questions written in plain English, verified against official handbooks by our editorial team, and updated whenever provincial regulations change.
Since 2010, over 6 million Canadians have used Tests.ca to prepare for their knowledge tests. Our materials follow a rigorous editorial process and cover all 13 provinces and territories - from Ontario's MTO handbook to British Columbia's ICBC guide to Quebec's SAAQ requirements.
How we maintain accuracy across 13 jurisdictions
Every question is verified against official provincial driver's handbooks, Highway Traffic Acts, Motor Vehicle Acts, and Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) standards. We never rely on third-party summaries.
Our Chief Educational Researcher, Steven Litvintchouk, M.S., leads the editorial review of all practice test content across every province. Steven holds degrees from MIT and Columbia University and is a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.
We monitor provincial licensing authority publications weekly. When changes are detected in any province's handbook or regulations, affected questions are reviewed and updated within the same week. Our full methodology is publicly available.
Tests.ca maintains separate, province-specific question banks verified against each jurisdiction's official handbook:
Tests.ca is operated by Elegant E-Learning, Inc., a Canadian education company founded in 2010. Our mission is to improve first-time driver safety through accessible, accurate test preparation.
We operate a network of driver education platforms - including Driving-Tests.org (USA), G1.ca (Ontario), and TopTests (UK) - that have helped over 46 million learners worldwide earn their licences. Our resources are trusted by more than 2,500 public libraries, schools, and road-safety organisations across multiple countries.
All Tests.ca content is delivered ad-free and privacy-first. We reinvest in tools that turn static rules into practical knowledge - because safer roads start with better-prepared drivers.
