FREE NS Class 2 (Bus) Commercial Licence Practice Test
With a Nova Scotia Class 2 commercial driver’s licence, you can find employment as a driver of transit buses, coach buses, tour buses, and school buses (although you must meet additional requirements to drive school buses). But your opportunities don’t stop there. You can also drive vehicles in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 8. These include hotel, airport, and worksite shuttles; seniors’ and accessible transportation; and day program and private school shuttles.
To apply for a Class 2 commercial driver’s licence in Nova Scotia, you must have held a full Class 5 licence or better for at least one year, be at least 19 years old (one year older than for a Class 4 licence), pass a vision screening test, and submit a medical examination report completed by your doctor.
You must also pass an official knowledge exam on the theory of operating Class 2 vehicles. The Class 2 knowledge test may include questions on basic driving maneuvers, driving laws and rules, ensuring safety, handling emergencies, passenger loading and unloading, passenger management, and vehicle inspections. The passing score is 80%.
Once you pass the Class 2 knowledge test, you can get a Class 2 learner’s licence, which will allow you to practice commercial driving under supervision. When you feel ready, book a road test. Pass that test, and obtain a Class 2 commercial driver’s licence! You must take the road test in a Class 2 vehicle.
Because most Class 2 vehicles in NS have air brakes, you should also obtain an Air Brake endorsement. The main requirement for this endorsement is to pass the official Air Brake knowledge test. You may obtain the endorsement after you’ve obtained your Class 2 commercial driver’s licence. If you’re applying for an Air Brake endorsement, your road test vehicle must have air brakes.
We offer seven Nova Scotia Class 2 Licence Knowledge practice tests, of which this one is just the first. We designed these tests to ensure you pass the Class 2 knowledge exam – on your first try! This practice test consists of 50 multiple-choice questions on basic driving maneuvers, driving emergencies, pavement markings, railway crossings, road signs, slippery roads, tire pressures, and vehicle inspections.
If you get stuck on a question, just ask our AI Assistant to give you a hint, rephrase the question, or answer your own questions about commercial driving. If you still miss the question, the AI Assistant will provide you with the correct answer and an explanation.
Be sure to try our other Nova Scotia Class 2 Knowledge practice tests, too!
