Newfoundland Fines and Limits Test

To pass the Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Class 5 Knowledge Exam, it is essential to study fines and limits. The exam requires individuals to be at least 16 years old, pass a vision screening, and present valid government-issued identification. If under 18, you must provide written parental or guardian consent to testing. If you fail the exam, you will have to wait one day and pay to retest. Our Newfoundland and Labrador Traffic Fines and Limits Practice Test covers all the material necessary to pass this portion of the knowledge exam on your first attempt.

Material on the knowledge exam includes traffic violations and the fines, demerit points, and even license suspension and criminal charges that can result. As demerit points increase, so too do the severity and duration of the penalty. New drivers face suspension of their permit if they exceed six points. Construction and school zone infractions or using a handheld phone while driving can result in fines and four demerit points. Improper seat belts can lead to a fine and two demerit points. Speed limits are strictly enforced. Drivers must yield to emergency vehicles and stop for school buses with flashing lights or stop signs.

New drivers of any age must follow NL’s three-stage Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) system: Class 5I (Learner’s Licence), Class 5II (Probationary Licence), and the full Class 5 licence. Restrictions in 5I include driving while supervised by an adult with at least four years of licensed experience, zero blood alcohol limits, drive time restrictions, and passenger limits. “Novice Driver” signs must be posted on the back of vehicles. Additionally, vehicles must meet legal safety standards, and certain modifications like excessive window tinting and illegal exhaust systems are prohibited.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Knowledge Exam comprises 30 multiple-choice questions. You must take the exam at a Motor Registration Division office and receive a score of at least 85% to pass.

Our Newfoundland and Labrador Fines and Limits Practice Test is based on the most recent NL’s Road Users Guide and contains 30 multiple-choice questions. You will be provided with immediate explanations for each response, speeding the learning process and ensuring you pass this part of the official knowledge test on your first attempt.
